1. Click "Plantings"

2. Click "New Planting"

3. Decide if you want to create the planting based on a start date or harvest date. We'll first show you what it looks like if we base the planting on a start date

4. Pick your start date. We'll use today's date, June 30th

5. Select the crop you want to plant

6. Enter the number of trays you want to plant

7. This is where it gets a little tricky. Select the "Planting Status" as either planned, in progress, or completed. The purpose of this step is to ensure the software matches reality. If you haven't planted the broccoli yet, select "Planned." The software will use your start date and crop details to show you the steps and dates for each task

8. If you select "In Progress," the software will give you the option to say where in the production process it is. You can choose different steps to ensure the software tracks it correctly. This situation is helpful if you planted trays but forgot to note it. You can return later to document them

9. Selecting "Completed" as the status tells Microgreen Manager that the planting was harvested. Depending on the "Shelf Life" of that crop and the date of this entry, the product could end up in surplus or expired

10. What if we changed the planting from "Start Date" to "Harvest Date"? We'll leave the date the same

11. The task dates automatically adjusted to account for a new harvest date. The "Harvest" task used to read July 10th, but now it reads June 30th

12. When you're ready, click "Submit"

13. If we find the planting in our planting dashboard and click the planting ID, we can see more information

14. We told Microgreen Manager we were planting five trays. This planting group wasn’t created for an order, so all five trays are surplus. You’ll find more details, like the seed needed for planting, the expected yield, and more

15. We'll also see the tasks needed to grow this planting and the scheduled dates for each
