How to Create Recurring Tasks

Custom recurring tasks are essential for creating cleaning and maintenance schedules in your farm. Use them to keep on top of replacing filters, taking out the trash, mopping, and much more.

1. You can create a recurring task from both the Tasks and Recurring Tasks pages

2. Click "New Task"

3. Enter a task name. Let's create a recurring task to change our company password for security purposes

4. You can use the same form to create one-time and recurring tasks by toggling this button

5. Click this button to either have the recurring task go on forever or have an end date

6. Select a start date

7. Now let's select the cadence or "Frequency Type" for the recurring task. We have four options. The first is "Every N Weeks"

8. Pick how many weeks should elapse between each instance of the recurring task. Each instance is called a "Child Task." In this example, the task will appear every six weeks. The day of the week it falls on will be the same as the start date. The start date we selected is a Tuesday

9. The next option is "Every Nth day of the week"

10. For this option, the task will occur every week on a specified day of the week. Use the dropdown to select your preferred day

11. The next option is "Every N days"

12. For this option, the task will appear first on the start date, and then again after the number of days you enter. In this example, the first task would appear on July 1st and again on July 16th, July 31st, and so on

13. The last option is "Every Nth weekday of the month"

14. This option is best for picking a specific date each month. For example, the 1st Tuesday of each month, or the 3rd Friday

15. Before submitting, add any notes

16. Click "Submit"

17. Your new recurring task will show up on the dashboard. You'll see the frequency and start date. Click the task name to get more details

18. At the top of the page, you'll find details such as the name, start date, frequency, notes, and the date the recurring task was created or last updated

19. Scroll to the bottom to find the "Child Tasks." Child tasks are instances of the recurring task with a specific date. We scheduled the recurring task to occur every ten days, which is why we see child tasks for July 1st, 11th, and 21st. Other guides will cover how to edit recurring tasks and their child tasks
